The 5th Annual BLUSD Blues Day at the Flower Fields happens Saturday April 27 from 1-4pm. This is a special day when a variety of blues artists share their talents with blues lovers and the general public in the colorful surroundings of the blooming Flower Fields. It’s an amazingly picturesque setting to relax and hear music.

This year’s artists performing include guitarist/ vocalist Mike Reilly, vocalist Annette Da Bomb, guitarist/vocalist Steve Burns, bassist Nathan Brown, harpman/vocalist Les “Big Daddy” Taylor, Mark “Doc” Holliday on keys/organ/vocals and drummer Tom Stewart. Kicking off the afternoon is a special performance by the Kids Like Blues Band, second-graders from Oceanside teacher Jon Schwartz’ class.

The nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower FieldsÆ at Carlsbad Ranch, in Carlsbad, California, are in bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year – from early March through early May.
