WALTER TROUT AND THE BLITZ BROTHERS AT THE BELLY UP ON 6/5!

Guitarist Walter Trout has been playing the blues for most of his life.  He got his first break playing in Jesse Ed Davis’ band in the early 70s.  They played back-up for the likes of Big Mama Thornton,  Lowell Fulson and Joe Tex.  Later on,  he was a member of Canned Heat and John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers before launching his solo career in 1989.  The prolific songwriter has since recorded 21 albums of original material.  His newest release , due out on June 10, is a cover album paying tribute to his late friend Luther Allison, who passed in 1997.  This hard-working road warrior seldom comes to San Diego, so don’t miss this opportunity to see him live!

The Blitz Brothers were a legendary rock band in San Diego in the 70s and early 80s.  In 2012, lead singer Richard “Blitz” Livoni decided to re-create the band, much to the glee of their long-time fans.  Barney Roach is on bass, and Billy Ray Drums handles percussion duties.  They play about once a month.  In April, they opened for Jimmy Thackery at Winston’s OB.

$1 from the sale of each ticket will be donated to BLUSD’s Blues in the Schools program.  Get your tickets now before they’re gone!
